    Graphic Designing

    This course aims to prepare students for a career in graphic designing. Students will become familiar with graphic designing tools and software, and learn how to produce different products across differing needs of projects and target audiences. They will learn the basics of the design process and how to use typography, text and illustrations to create impactful and attractive layouts. Anyone who has some understanding of basic graphic tools like Microsoft Paint and Microsoft PowerPoint, and who wishes to create documents such as ads, flyers, brochures or newsletters, would be an ideal student for this course.
    Course Contents
    • Graphic design fundamentals
    • Selection of suitable tool according to the need of design and project
    • Printing terminologies
    • Graphic designing software (Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, InPage 2000, Adobe Photoshop, desktop publishing and pre-press, Adobe InDesign)
    • Professional design practices
    • Marketing Yourself: Your Portfolio
    Course Outcomes
    • Recognize key concepts of illustrations
    • Appreciate form, color and layout in 2D graphics
    • Competently use a range of common graphic software packages
    • Working knowledge and understanding of short-run digital production techniques
    • Familiar with printing and color details for graphic design process
    • Add multi-lingual contents specially Urdu into design projects
    • Create logos and other illustrations from basic to complex levels
    • Edit photographs and enhance/retouch them with effects
    Entrance Criteria
    • Matriculate
    • Working knowledge of English
    • Familiar with browsers, email, and computer file system functions
    • Familiar with basic graphic tools like Microsoft Paint and Microsoft PowerPoint
