  • How to Find a Job

Here are some tips for finding out about job vacancies online and offline:

     Local and national newspapers
Smaller, local employers may advertise in local papers, while national papers publish advertisements for professional, executive and senior vacancies. These papers may feature jobs on different days of the week, for instance, The Dawn publishes job adverts on Sundays.

     Job vacancy websites
Most job vacancy websites provide you with the option to search for jobs according to your criteria; type of job, level, salary, location. Some sites also notify you when suitable vacancies are posted on their site. Some of the main job vacancy websites are:

    www.mustakbil.com www.rozee.pk www.apnijobs.com www.bayrozgar.com

     Networking and word of mouth
It is estimated that 70% of jobs are filled even before they are advertised. You need to ensure that you are considered for unadvertised jobs as well. Let your contacts know that you are looking for work, specifying which area you are interested in. Your contacts include your colleagues, friends and family. Each person may tell someone else who may tell another person, and so on.

You can also network at events and conferences related to your field of interest, and make contacts. A work possibility may arise for you.
