English Language (Intermediate)

This course will provide students with a clear understanding of how language varies across different contexts. It will offer students different opportunities to practice the language, improve their communication skills and enhance their confidence. Activities in this course are designed to increase students’ self-reliance.

Course Contents
• Listening to a range of texts; distinguishing between main and supporting ideas; understanding abstract concepts • Writing narrative, descriptive texts • Speaking about general topics, personal experiences and world affairs • Reading a variety of texts to extract information, make inferences and summarize • Grammar, vocabulary, spellings, punctuation • Public Speech • Response handling • Creative writing • Poetry writing • Business communication (emails)
Course Outcomes
